What do I do about the man on the corner?

He's usually got a few bags around him and he holds a dirty, tattered sign that says "veteran. anything will help. God bless you." He and many others frequent our busiest corners in the Twin Cities, and every time I drive by I feel guilty for not giving them anything, for having a car to drive, for my life in general. Given that I don't know how he'll use it, that I'm a vulnerable single gal, etc, what can I do for the person right there in front of me? All I know is that our cities will care for people so that they don't have to do that.
