Perhaps you'd be interested in articulating the basis, the possibilities, or the joy of city-building friendship.

Baylor University's Institute for Faith and Learning is hosting a symposium with the title "Friendship: Quests for Character, Community, and Truth." Encouraged topics include Friendship with God, Friendship as a Foundation for Civic Engagement, Spiritual Friendship, Friendship and Reconciliation, and Friendship in Contemporary Culture. It seems to me that we have a great deal to say about these things, not just what we've read and thought about (though those things count too), but what we've seen, heard, and experienced.

The conference is in October and abstracts are due on July 1. More information is available at http://www.baylor.edu/ifl/index.php?id=44236. I'd love to toss around ideas with any friends who are interested.
